1. What needs were you trying to solve when you brought in PBworks?

We were trying to coordinate events, files, meeting minutes for a multi-centre project. The project involved educational activities across multiple healthcare facilities. These events would occur at multiple times per year with the need to repeat on an annual basis.

 

2. How were you meeting those needs prior to bringing in PBworks?

Previously we used email attachments which quickly became cumbersome. Multiple files were being shared and updated electronically.

 

3. What other solutions did you consider?

We looked at file storage solution through cloud using public folders. This would have solved some of the issues of file transfer but lacked all the communication tools and ability to develop your “workspace.”

 

4. What were your reasons for choosing PBworks over the other solutions considered?

It was the best way to handle files, meeting minutes, communication options while also allowing customization of a workspace. Users can determine the frequency of update notifications and administrators can assign different levels of access to pages, files, and content. These are all very useful features.

 

5. How did you roll out PBworks to your team?

Easy, just sent an email with a brief explanation of the workspace concept and sent an invitation to join.

 

6. How has PBworks changed the way your team works?

Improved efficiency. Better communication.

 

7. How do you feel about PBworks after rolling it out to your organization?

It’s a great tool which continues to improve as the interface has further been developed and refined with time.
